Dean Mahendra Gupta received his Ph.D. in accounting from Stanford University in 1990, his M.S. in industrial administration from Carnegie Mellon University in 1981, and his B.S.c (Honors) in statistics and economics from Bombay University in 1978.Gupta was appointed dean of the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis in July 2005. He has served on the Olin faculty since 1990 and in 2004 was named the Geraldine J. and Robert L. Virgil Professor of Accounting and Management. Students have given him the Reid Teaching Award eight times since 2001. He was chosen the Marcile and James Reid Professor for 1996-1997.
